Yapuru from Ultraman Ace by Yamanaya 異次元超人 巨大ヤプール ウルトラマンエース やまなや

This is the "Enormous Yapuru" (Giant Yapool), the ”strange dimensional superhuman” made by Yamanaya from Yamanaya’s “Monstrous Beast Home Village” series やまなや 怪獣郷.

The figure is made of clear vinyl. It appears that it is clear green vinyl from about the chest down, and plain clear vinyl from the chest up. It is hard to tell because of the paint, but if you hold the figure in front of a bright light, you can see through the entire body, even the head. The paints are beautiful metallics (bronze, brown, blue, gold, etc.). It is referred to as the SP (special) color edition (SPカラー 版). It is standard sized, about 9 inches tall, and is articulated at the arms, legs, and waist. 全高：約22cm／６パーツ

Yapuru originally appeared in Episode 23 of Ultraman Ace (I believe). In the show, Yapuru attained a height of 165 feet tall and weighed 82,000 tons.

ヤプール人の変身 [編集]異次元超人 巨大ヤプール 『ウルトラマンA』第23話「逆転! ゾフィ只今参上」に登場。 身長：50メートル 体重：8万2千トン 過去に地球に送った超獣がすべてAや TAC に倒されたため、自らの手で地球を侵略するた めにヤプール人が合体・巨大化した姿。 老人（正体はマザロン人）を操って子供たちを異次元にさらい、北斗星司と南夕子を異次元 で迷わせてAに変身させないようにしたが、ゾフィーによって失敗。異次元空間に突入して きたAに真っ向から勝負を挑む。鎌状の左手から多彩な光線技を発射。さらには火炎を発生 させたり、空間を捻じ曲げるなど、様々な能力でAを苦しめるが、最期は光線の撃ち合いの 末メタリウム光線を喰らい敗北。「ヤプール死すとも超獣死なず、怨念となって必ず復讐せ ん」と言い残して粉々に砕け散った。この後もヤプールの残党が登場していることから、全 てのヤプール人が合体したわけではない。

Nakayoshi Redjack from Ultraman Ace なかよし レッドジャック ウルトラマンA

Ralph Cosentino, author, illustrator, and toy designer extraordinaire sent me some pictures and information regarding a beautiful new toy he recently acquired that I want to share with you here:

This is a Nakayoshi Redjack. It is Ralph’s understanding that only 10 of this “Hawaiian" version were made.

Red Jack レッドジャック appeared in Ultraman Ace Episode 30 (1972) entitled: The Ultra Star That Even You Can See (きみにも見えるウルトラの星 黒雲超獣レッドジャック) (KIMI NI MO MIERU URUTORA NO HOSHI).

Ultraman Ace (ウルトラマンA or ウルトラマンエース - Urutoraman Êsu) is the title superhero of a tokusatsu SF/kaiju/superhero TV show, and is the 5th show in the Ultra Series. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the series aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System from April 7, 1972 to March 30, 1973, with a total of 52 episodes.

Starting with this show, the Ultra Series heads in a notably different direction, slowly shifting from a sci-fi/mystery adventure to full-tilt superhero fantasy fare. Also, all previous Ultra-beings (namely Ultraman, Zoffy, Ultra Seven, and New Ultraman) make more frequent appearances here, whereas they only made guest appearances in the previous show Return of Ultraman.

This series marks the debut of special effects director Koichi Kawakita, who went on to do many other tokusatsu superhero shows (for both Tsuburaya Productions and Toho Company Ltd.), and directed the FX for the majority of the "VS Series" (AKA: "Heisei Series") in Toho's Godzilla films. Kawakita, needless to say, was a student under the late Eiji Tsuburaya.
