Strange, but true!!! Torutos by Marusan マルサン

Torutos. Another figure from the Marusan Original Monster Series. Standard size. For more pictures and information about the Original Monster Series, see prior posts regarding Baron, Dorango, Bamer, and Dargle.

What is it? A turtle, a lobster, a tree...? There is something about these somewhat simple and less-refined sculpts in this series that I like very much.

Baron Monster by Marusan マルサン

This is from the "Original Monster Series" created and designed by Marusan Toy Co. in the early 1970's to avoid the requirements that applied to Tsuburaya licensed properties and other licensed kaiju figures of the time.

It is made from red vinyl with metallic paint and is about 9.25 inches long.

This is a 1997 reproduction of the original 1970 Baron figure.

I will post pictures of some of the other monsters from this Marusan series later.
